57 REFLEX BUYING GUIDE

How to Choose the Right Gaming Phone

Compare budget, FPS, processor, RAM, display, cooling, battery, PTA status and condition before choosing your next gaming smartphone.

Three gaming smartphones shown with performance meter, FPS, processor, battery and cooling indicators
STEP 01

Which Games Do You Play?

Start with the games you play most often because different games have different hardware, graphics and FPS requirements.

Competitive Shooter Player

Typical titles
Priorities

MOBA Player

Typical titles
Priorities

Graphics-Focused Gamer

Typical titles
Priorities

Casual Gamer

Typical titles
Priorities

Requirements are not identical for every title. Game version, graphics settings and the exact device variant all change what a phone can sustain.

STEP 02

Do You Need 60, 90 or 120 FPS?

Pick a realistic frame-rate target first, then match the hardware and budget to it.

60 FPS

Everyday smoothness

90 FPS

Competitive play

120 FPS

Availability on request

No currently published product carries a verified 120 FPS gaming-performance attribute, so we do not link an empty category here.

A phone’s display refresh rate and game FPS support are different. Confirm the exact device and game combination before purchasing — read the FPS Gaming Guide.

STEP 03

Match Performance to Your Budget

Each range opens the live shop filtered by price, so the products and counts you see are always the current ones.

Below Rs 75,000

Entry and value options

Rs 75,000 – 100,000

Balanced performance

Rs 100,000 – 150,000

High performance

Rs 150,000 – 200,000

Flagship class

Prices and stock can change. The current product page or WhatsApp confirmation remains authoritative. A price range does not guarantee a specific FPS level. The Above Rs 200,000 range is hidden because no gaming phone is currently listed in it.

STEP 04

The Processor Controls More Than Speed

The chipset combines CPU, GPU and supporting hardware that influence game rendering, loading, heat, battery efficiency and overall responsiveness.

CPU Performance

Handles game logic, multitasking and operating-system processes.

GPU Performance

Renders game graphics and has a major effect on frame rate and graphics quality.

Efficiency

A powerful but efficient chipset can provide better sustained performance and battery balance.

Game Optimization

A powerful chipset still needs game and software support for specific high-FPS modes.

Chipsets currently listed at 57 Reflex

These are the processors recorded on published products today — not a performance ranking.

We do not publish a universal chipset ranking. Snapdragon is not automatically better than MediaTek, and a high benchmark does not guarantee stable gaming on a specific title.

STEP 05

Choose RAM for Gaming and Multitasking

Physical RAM affects how many games and apps stay loaded in memory and how stable long sessions feel.

6GB RAM

8GB RAM

12GB RAM

16GB or More

More RAM helps multitasking and game stability, but RAM alone does not determine FPS. Processor, GPU, software and temperature remain critical. Virtual RAM (extended or expanded RAM) uses storage space and is not the same as physical RAM — always confirm the physical figure.

STEP 06

Choose Enough Storage for Modern Games

Modern competitive titles and their updates can occupy a large part of a phone’s storage.

128GB

256GB

512GB

1TB

Available usable storage is lower than the advertised capacity because the operating system and pre-installed software use part of the storage. Only capacities recorded on published products link to a shop filter; the others are shown for guidance.

STEP 07

A Gaming Display Is More Than Just Refresh Rate

Refresh Rate

Controls how frequently the display refreshes. Products listed here record 120Hz, 144Hz and 165Hz panels.

Touch Sampling Rate

Describes how frequently touch input is detected.

Resolution

Higher resolution can improve clarity but may require more graphics power.

Brightness

Important for visibility indoors and outdoors.

Panel Type

OLED or AMOLED panels can offer strong contrast and response, while implementation varies by device.

Screen Size

Larger screens improve visibility, but comfort, weight and hand size matter.

A 120Hz display does not guarantee that every game will run at 120 FPS. The game, the exact device variant and the software must all support that mode.

STEP 08

Cooling Matters During Long Gaming Sessions

As a phone becomes hotter, it may reduce processor speed to control temperature. This can cause lower FPS, reduced brightness or faster battery drain.

Internal Cooling

Vapour chambers, graphite layers and heat spreaders help move heat away from key components.

External Cooling Fan

An appropriate mobile cooler may help manage surface temperature during longer sessions.

Gaming Environment

Room temperature, charging, phone case, brightness and network usage can affect heat.

A cooling fan may help sustain existing performance, but it cannot unlock an FPS option that the phone or game does not support.

STEP 09

Balance Gaming Time, Heat and Charging Speed

Battery Capacity

A larger capacity can support longer use, but chipset efficiency and settings also matter.

Fast Charging

Reduces charging time, although charging can generate additional heat.

Battery Bypass

Where genuinely supported, bypass charging may reduce battery stress during plugged-in gaming.

Battery Condition

Pre-owned devices may have different battery performance even when their cosmetic grade is similar.

Do not compare phones using battery capacity alone. Screen brightness, FPS, network, temperature and software efficiency affect real play time.

STEP 10

Do Not Ignore Network and Control Features

5G and Network Bands

Confirm that the exact variant supports the bands used by your network.

Wi-Fi Generation

A newer Wi-Fi generation and a stable router can reduce ping spikes at home.

Bluetooth Audio Latency

Wireless audio can add delay; low-latency codecs or wired audio help competitive play.

Stereo Speakers

Stereo output helps with directional audio cues in shooters.

Headphone Support

Check whether a 3.5mm jack or a USB-C adapter is required.

Shoulder Triggers

Physical or capacitive triggers are device-specific gaming features.

Haptic Feedback

Motor quality changes how in-game feedback feels.

USB Type-C Capabilities

Charging speed, display output and accessory support vary by model.

Low FPS and high network ping are different problems. A powerful phone cannot correct an unstable internet connection.

REGISTRATION STATUS

Choose the Registration Status That Fits Your Needs

Official PTA Approved

Official PTA Approved

Suitable for customers wanting confirmed supported local mobile-network use.

Non-PTA

Non-PTA

May suit customers using Wi-Fi, secondary devices or alternative arrangements, subject to applicable rules.

CPID Registered

CPID Registered

Must be clearly identified and confirmed for the exact device.

Confirmation Required

Confirmation Required

The final PTA or registration status must be verified before payment.

PTA status does not indicate performance or physical condition — these properties must be evaluated separately. Registration details are confirmed privately; full IMEI information is never published on the website.

DEVICE CONDITION

Should You Buy New or Pre-Owned?

Brand New

Benefits
Considerations

Pre-Owned

Benefits
Considerations

Package type, PTA status, battery information and warranty are separate from cosmetic condition. Grading is explained in the Device Condition Guide. A “Full Box” listing is not automatically a brand-new device.
